HER BEGINNINGS….
In Sherée’s late 40's, she was diagnosed with a pituitary brain tumor which was also blinding her. After going through a life threatening surgery and also an experience with cancer, she decided to make some changes in her life. Among some of the changes she made were products she was putting on her skin. She always used what was considered “quality” products, but from a health point of view there were too many chemicals, preservatives, dyes, etc. in them.
There are also deceptions about products which are claiming to be “natural”. The skin is our largest organ and what we apply to our skin absorbs quickly into the bloodstream. Toxins accumulate in your body over time and can pose serious health risks. Why take such risks when you don’t have to?
The Food and Drug Administration requires cosmetic manufacturers to list ingredients on the product packaging in the order of the amounts of ingredients. Some ingredients do not even have to be the actual name. Cosmetic companies are allowed to use “politically correct” names such as “Carmine”, instead of “wings of the cochineal insect”. Another example is bismuth oxychloride. Bismuth is the by-product of lead and copper refining, as well as other metals to a smaller degree. Also the maximum percentage of potentially harmful ingredients are (in her opinion) ridiculously high.
Sherée has been a professional make-up artist and a color analyst for 28 years. She has represented many skin care and cosmetic lines. Through those years she has learned a lot about products and their ingredients. She has seen time and time again different companies compromising with ingredients to keep their costs down.....not the cost to the customer though. However, it's not just about cheap ingredients, it's about dangerous ingredients. As Sherée researched these; she was appalled at the number of harmful ones and their health effects.
Over time she became tired of representing skin care and cosmetic lines that compromised and subsequently began her quest to develop her own product line, “Accents for Health by Sherée”. Her products provide the consumer with a healthy alternative.
Opening a storefront and selling her cosmetic line, Sherée was fulfilling her deep concern, desire and vision to inform as many people as possible about the health dangers associated with cosmetic products. Now years later, Sheree decided to make her cosmetic line an online "only" business.
ON A SIDE NOTE:
Before Sherée became a Make-Up Artist, she was a Surgery Technician for an animal clinic for 8 years. She is extremely sensitive to animal cruelty and will have no part of being connected with any supplier that harms animals in any way.
